One of the challenges of today’s workplace remains dealing with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and other important stakeholders from different cultural backgrounds–whether as an expatriate or as a team member in a culturally diverse workplace.
Success in these situations relies on accurately pinpointing what is happening, formulating options for how to respond effectively in an intercultural environment, choosing the best option, and then implementing that option. Using a system I developed–the RCB (Recognize, Choose, Behave) method–I walk my clients through these steps–largely using their own experiences as training content–and build clients’ ability to do this for themselves.
Key projects:
- Skill-building for the international reorganization of a European power provider (from a global organization to a transnational one)
- One-to-one support built around The International Profiler as part of an intercultural competence building initiative for international senior managers
- Intercultural competency building course for students nominated for a semester abroad at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien)
